A bottle of 8 year old Talisker, estimated to be dated from the 1970s
This was the same decade the maltings at the distillery closed and barley began to be imported from Glen Ord (the nearest maltings 100 miles away).
The label features the distinctive DT crest on the label which stands for Dailuaine-Talisker.
This is an example of Talisker from this era, in excellent condition.
This was specially bottled for the Distiller's Agency, we estimate in the 1970s.
Please note as this is a vintage bottle, conditions of bottle/label and liquid level can vary - Some years can vary as estimations only (example: estimated 1970s/80s).
Chocolate with heavy vanilla influences followed by fresh fruits with a peat hint which continues to develop on the palate with almonds and hazelnuts.
The finish lingers with smoke and fruit - think golden apples.
