Gawith Hoggarth Kendal Balkan Flake Pipe Tobacco (Loose) by David
A very characterful blend. Plenty of smokey taste from the latakia, a spice from the oriental, and very light sweetness from the virginia. The whole blend however is quite harsh tasting. It has a musty tone that I normally enjoy but is just a bit much in this case. I can see enjoyers of codger…

Worth drying out for around 30 mins before smoking or it will keep going out. Lots and lots of smoke from this blend, I had no issues practicing smoke rings with this! The cherry is definitely there but very subtle. Tin note is nice, as is the room note. I'm sure you won't get many…

Gawith Hoggarth Kendal Dark Pipe Tobacco 50g Tin

Gawith Hoggarth Kendal Dark Pipe Tobacco 50g Tin by David
A simply easy to smoke blend that's as close to shag cut without actually being as you can get. You get a nice deep smoke but that's about it. There's not much complexity here and it's a very dry smoke even when fresh. Nicotine is medium at most so don't expect a good hit even…

A thoroughly enjoyable medium strength blend. There's not a lot to this one and whilst the perique is noticeable, it adds very little spice. An interesting mild Lakeland flavour is present, but I got no chocolate topping whatsoever. For those exploring Lakeland blends, this is worth a go. For…

Gawith Hoggarth Kendal Bosun Cut Plug Pipe Tobacco (Loose) by David
A genuinely great smoke. It has that classic Lakeland aroma but doesn't overpower in Lakeland taste. Whilst containing dark tobacco, this is quite a medium blend with a touch of clove spice and light floral in the retrohale. It rubs out easily, burns slow and cool, and could easily sway people…

A fantastic tin note of chocolate that carries through to the beginning of the smoke but quickly fades and you're left with a relatively bland and bitter Lakeland. If you really try, thebitter chocolate taste can still be found in the deep background. This is definitely a savoury smoke which…
