Alejandro Robaina

Alejandro Robaina (1919–2010) was celebrated worldwide as Cuba’s greatest tobacco grower. His family had been cultivating premium wrapper leaf in the Vuelta Abajo region since the 1840s, but Alejandro’s skill and dedication earned him legendary status among cigar makers and aficionados alike. Known for consistently producing the highest quality wrapper leaves, he became the only Cuban tobacco farmer to have a Habanos brand named in his honour. Today, his legacy lives on through both the Vegas Robaina brand and the Robaina family’s continued work in Cuban tobacco.
