American Blends Cherry & Vanilla Pipe Tobacco (Loose)
Date Added: Wednesday 14 February, 2018
I'm just getting into pipes and this is only the second pipe tobacco that I've tried. I bought a range to see the style that I would like and this was the only aromatic that was in my order. The scent is very strong; the cherry and vanilla pack an absolute punch to the nostrils, they are certainly not subtle. It is reminiscent in fragrance to a Bakewell Tart. Upon lighting up these continue through to the taste, they are certainly pretty flavoursome in the mouth with the vanilla becoming a bit more dominant and the cherry, whilst still there, taking a back seat. As Callum said in his review, this is sweet, very sweet indeed. The closest thing that I could compare it to in terms of cigars was an American stick that I was given as a present a few years ago that had honey flavoured tobacco. If I'm being honest it became a bit sickly and I was looking forward to it finishing. However I also made a major mistake as towards the end; I realised that my puffing may have been a bit on the quick side and it gave quite a bit of bight in the back of the throat, which surprised me given how sweet

AVO Classic No. 9 Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Saturday 13 January, 2018
Avo is a no nonsense offering across the entire brand and a great value. Something that given the anecdotal heritage of the man behind it and the sticks themselves is really valid. This Classic is a great mild smoke with a solid draw and good burn and the wrapper seems to give it a good stingy bite that blends nicely with its otherwise soft taste- something to keep you engaged as you smoke away that is also a nice substitute for somewhat predictable lack of depth. Great that Davidoff decided to invigorate this range as this should easily be one of the go to cigars in this threshold and with the ethos largely intact offers a well rounded experience.

Very impressed by this cigar for the price. Easy draw, well put together, tight ash and very even burn. Not overflowing with flavour but that's fine at this price point. Nice and smooth. Slightly woody with light hazelnut and almond flavour and even a hint of turkish delight.

Sorry to say, this one is not for me. Did not like the taste, very woody. So much so I did not smoke all of it. Sorry but just my opinion.

Not the most even burn, peppery and woody flavours but that is it for me, very loose draw, very dry, with lot of smoke. Little bit strong and not a lot else for me, so wouldn't buy another based on this experience.
