Talisker 8 Year Old 1980s Single Malt Scotch Whisky - 75cl 45.8%
Date Added: Monday 13 August, 2018
Talisker 8 yr old. Tasted in1977-1979, at 8 yrs old. This was easily my favourite before it was replaced by the smoother, much more rounded and tamer 10 year old version around 30 years ago. All I can say is that the 8yr old did every one fine from 1831 to the mid Eighties and was said to have been the favourite tipple of Robert Louis Stevenson. Talisker is the component malt in Johnny Walker Red Label and supplies the peppery notes and hotness. Dark gold in colour, pungent, briny, like a fresh oyster and malty sweet on the nose. The whisky explodes with flavour in the mouth, grabs you by the lapels and shakes you, a shock to the system, with Island smokiness, sweet and sour malty notes, then finishes very dry and hot and very peppery. Legendary stuff, a large glass of this and you could probably carry a horse around the Town Square for a bet. Locally described in The Isle of Skye as the ‘Lava of The Cuillins’. I must point out that I drank several bottles of this in the late 70’s when it would have been 8 or so years old and not an aged bottle. Very nice and about £5-£

Plasencia Reserva Original Toro Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Monday 13 August, 2018
A brilliant cigar at a great price. Nutty and earth aromas fill the room and then youre met with cocoa and fruit flavours as you make your way through this amazing cigar. It ends with a slight toffee and leathery taste, really rounds off this cigar.

Mitchellero Orchie Cigar – 1 Single
Date Added: Sunday 12 August, 2018
Brought two of these little cigars. Smoked my first one today and found the draw to be way to loose for my liking, felt like I was sucking through a straw. Relatively mild cigar with hints of spice, not a terrible cigar but I wouldn’t buy this again.

Montecristo No. 2 Cigar - Pack of 3
Date Added: Sunday 12 August, 2018
My first time trying the No2, i usually smoke the No3 or 4, this is without doubt the best cuban cigar Ive had to date. Bit pricey buying the pack of 3 but worth every penny when you smoke it. Definitely recommend

Cold draw taste was nice. Lovely draw and nice aroma when burning, typical of Alex Bradley cigar. Nice earthy note with hint of spicey tone. Not an everyday cigar but non the less a relaxing weekend afternoon type of cigar.

NUB Maduro 460 Cigar - 1 Single
Date Added: Saturday 11 August, 2018
After purchasing this cigar some time ago, it aged in my humidor for 18 months. I decided to give it a smoke during the nice summer months. Tastes in stages: In the first third the taste is mainly of dark cocoa and black pepper. It is incredibly flavoursome, but also very smooth: no bitterness at all. In the second third the dark cocoa is enhanced with a blast of dark coffee along with a good hint of black pepper. The final third consisted of coffee and leathery notes, the cocoa was much milder but the coffee notes were now joined by a leathery taste along with tge ever present black pepper. The cigar was incredibly smooth from first to last puff, despite the small size the cigar lasted for 1 hour 20 minutes. The burn was even throughout, no touchups required. Certainly one for those that enjoy bolder flavours, overall a fantastic smoke that I highly recommend.
