Bruichladdich Octomore 10.3 - 61.3% 70cl - This young single malt from Bruichladdich's Octomore range explores a “softer smokiness” with 114PPM (phenol parts per million). This is the unit used to measure the peat level of a whisky, with Laphroaig being only around 45PPM. For this release they used barley from a single field on a single Islay farm. Fully matured in American oak casks and bottled at a kicking 61.3% ABV.
Ardbeg Wee Beastie - 47.4% 70cl - At just five years old, Wee Beastie is a feisty young creature with a formidable taste. Young and intensely smoky, this is a dram untamed by age. Matured in ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, is perfect for enjoying neat or as the mouth-watering main ingredient in a powerfully smoky cocktail!
Laphroaig Lore - 48% 70cl - Created using techniques that have been passed down for generations, Laphroaig’s master distillers select spirits from five different cask types, including ex-Bourbon barrels, 19th Century-style quarter casks and Oloroso sherry butts. Aged anywhere from 7 to 21 years, each spirit brings its own element, and lore, to the blend. The result is the richest expression from the distillery!
Connemara Peated Single Malt Irish Whiskey - 40% 70cl - Who said Irish whiskey can’t be peated? Connemara is proving they can do it with this release, which is unique among its kind. Aromas of sweet barley with wafts of peaty smoke, kippers, and well baked apple crumble appear on the nose. Flavours of lightly honey sweet, subdued clean smoke with peaty vegetal notes, sweet barley, light spice, and vanilla oak.
Longrow Peated - 70cl 46% - Another Campbeltown wonder from Springbank distillery that sure can’t disappoint! Perfect for the adventurous kind, a well-balanced Scotch whisky with some slightly medicinal notes. Rich and creamy palate with a slight medicinal hint, the smoke is always present, washing over the palate in waves and lingering on the finish.
Lagavulin 8 Year Old - 70cl 48% - Once a commemorative bottling for the distillery’s 200th anniversary, the Lagavulin 8-year-old is now here to stay! Big and smoky, with sweet spice that can be discovered when adding a few drops of water.
Bruichladdich Port Charlotte Islay Barley 2013 - 50% 70cl - This release from Bruichladdich was matured in a combination of ex-American whiskey casks and ex-wine casks from France's Pessac-Léognan region, bringing aromas of orange zest, peat, biscuits, apricot, and melon to the nose. The palate is full of nuttiness, coconut, fruits, caramel and of course, peat.
Stalla Dhu Islay - 70cl 40% - Independent bottling from an undisclosed Islay distillery, this award-winning single malt is a great introduction to peated Scotch! The nose brings smoke, honey, and citrus aromas. The palate is soft and warm, with peat notes, oak nuances, subtle hints of salted caramel and apples. Inviting maritime finish with a lingering subtle sweetness.
Glenturret 10 Year Old Peat Smoked 2022 Release - 50% 70cl - This 10 year old whisky from Glenturret is a great example of Highland peat! The smoke flavours are constantly evolving and changing through time. The liquid is matured in both first fill and second fill European and American oak casks. The resulting whisky forms a complex single malt that commands a higher strength of 50% ABV.
