Another of Springbank's limited releases is the 2019 release of Longrow, which is the twice distilled and peated version of classic Springbank.
This is a beautiful whisky, which is rich and complex, redolent of peat smoke, but with subtle notes of orange zest, coffee and gingerbread.
This Longrow is a mixture of 60% sherry casks and 40% bourbon casks with a limited run of 4800 bottles produced.
A classic in the making!
Nose: Elegant and refined. Sea salt and Wakame seaweed followed by pine cones, wood shavings and honey
Palate: Rich and creamy with subtle peat and juicy sweet flavours. Salted popcorn, Tofu, Butterscotch and Vanilla. Tobacco leaf, wood shavings and Black Forest gateau.
Finish: Pecan nuts followed by soft peaty embers with dark chocolate and earthy notes.
