At the Dalton Distillery, Oro gin is made in the time honoured way, that is by redistilling a selection of natural seeds, berries, peels and barks known as ‘the botanicals’ together with high quality neutral grain spirit.
Here, distillers macerate this mixture for 24 hours and distil using the ‘one shot’ method. That means the stills are charged with spirit, botanicals and water to the exact proportions of the recipe.
This gin us made in traditional copper pot stills because copper is proven to chemically react with the spirit mixture to removed unwanted sulphurous or vegetal compounds.
They do take this further however, the whole system right down to the condenser and pipework consists of the finest copper and its this attention to detail that contributes to the cleaner, fresh taste of Oro Gin.
No flavour and only water is added after distillation to achieve a strength of 43% ABV, perfect for this stunning gin.
