Although the Lochside distillery is gone (having closed in 1992 and finally demolished in 2005), you can still get a taste of their whiskies from independent bottlings - just like this one!
It was distilled in 1981 and bottled by independent bottlers Gordon & MacPhail as part of their Rare Old range.
Body: Medium.
Finish: Medium to long finish with lingering fruit flavours.
Cask Type: Refill Remade Sherry Hogshead.
Style: Rare Old Highland dram which is fruity and aromatic.
Many of the Single Malt Whiskies in Gordon & MacPhail's Rare Old range will never be seen again.
They are whiskies from another era - some are from distilleries no longer in operation, others from distilleries that no longer exist.
