‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ single malts, single grains and bourbons come from a variety of well renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blend, each of which being finished off with stunning labels.
The Springbank distillery is one of a small number of remaining Campbeltown distilleries - it used to be one of the most prolific regions, somewhat akin to Speyside, though today only a handful of distilleries remain.
Luckily, the Springbank distillery produces a fantastic array of Campbeltown whisky for us to enjoy, including classic Springbank (lightly peated), Hazelburn (unpeated) and Longrow (heavily peated), and they’re all bloomin’ marvellous.
Like all That Boutique-y Whiskies, the labels are a sight to behold with this Springbank label featuring Neil Ridley and Joel Harrison (formerly of caskstrength.net) working the old Porteus Mill at Springbank. Put your back into it, lads!
Nose: Sliced red apple by the Campbeltown coast. Peppery leaves, rubbed mint and gentle peat.
Palate: Rhubarb and custard sweets and deeper, rootsy goodness more like a rich Italian vermouth.
Finish: Positively smoky on the finish, what a whisky!
