Nose: There’s a rich, sweetness to this edition,a combination of demerara sugar, treacle, orange rind and smooth milk chocolate.
Palate: Mouth coating and oily in texture with immediate dunnage warehouse and coastal influences coming through. It is lightly peated and less sweet in taste than on the nose, nicely balanced with oaky tannins.
Finish: The finish is long and rich with dried fruit flavours coming to the fore from the port and sherry casks. Raisins followed by roasted coffee beans and a lasting note of bung cloth. A true old-style Springbank dram.
