Rives is a 100% Spanish owned family company, established by Don Augusto Haupold, a German consul in Malaga and visionary entrepreneur.
Gin Rives has been produced in El Puerto de Santa Maria since 1880, with extreme refinement and care, respecting the original recipe, which distinguishes its clean dry taste.
In 1976 they built a new modern distillery in El Palmar de Santa María in the province of Cádiz, with 30 metre high column stills, two large 100 year old John Dore copper pot stills, which are used for the distillation of the botanicals and a reverse osmosis water treatment plant.
The bottling area is responsible for packaging the entire production and comprises of 3 bottling lines with a capacity of up to 18,000 bottles per hour.
In addition, Rives has a state of the art laboratory, which is responsible for quality control and the research and development of new flavours and colours for future launches.
The bottle´s grass engraving represents the historical flagship, Santa María, the largest of the 3 ships used by Christopher Columbus in his first voyage to the New World.
