In 2023, Partagas announced the new, luxurious dimension to its portfolio with the introduction of the Partagas Linea Maestra, a range of cigars that represent the pinnacle of the brand's craftsmanship.
The Partagas Linea Maestra was unveiled as a tribute to the maestros of Cuban cigar rolling. The line is meant to showcase their expertise and elevate the Partagas experience by focusing on complexity, elegance, and refinement. Each cigar in this series is carefully handcrafted at the famous La Corona factory in Havana, using tobacco leaves exclusively sourced from the renowned Vuelta Abajo region in Cuba’s Pinar del Rio province. This region is famous for producing some of the best tobacco in the world.
The leaves used in the Linea Maestra range is a combination of aged Ligero and Medio Tiempo, which are known for imparting a full-bodied, flavourful smoke. The use of Medio Tiempo, a rare, potent leaf found only in the top primings of the tobacco plant, enhancing the strength and complexity of the smoke.
The Línea Maestra cigars are produced in three new vitolas, each carefully designed to enhance the smoking experience:
Maestro - a robust, short format that offers a concentrated, intense smoke.
Rito – a longer, elegant cigar that allows for a slower, more reflective experience.
Origen – a larger ring gauge that delivers a well-rounded flavour with more smoke output.
Traditionally, Partagas cigars are known for their strong, earthy, and peppery notes, with a signature richness that appeals to smokers seeking bold flavours. The Linea Maestra, however, represents a shift towards a more nuanced flavour profile. You can still expect the signature strength of Partagas, but with added layers of complexity. Tasting notes suggest these cigars have creamy, leathery undertones, complemented by hunts of spice, cedar, and dark chocolate, combining into a smooth and balanced smoke.
