    MONTECRISTO

Montecristo is the best known and probably the most appreciated brand of Havanas throughout the world. It forms the benchmark for many Havana smokers against which other brands are judged.

The name comes from Alexandre Dumas’ famous novel ‘The Count of Montecristo’, which was a firm favourite when read to the Torcedores (cigar rollers) at the factory where it was founded in 1935.

The original Montecristo range of sizes was composed of a narrow assortment numbered from 1 to 5. Today it consists of a wide variety of vitolas to cover every level of the cigar enthusiast’s needs.

Whether it is within the classic medium-to-full line, the lighter Open Series or the newer, more powerful, Linea 1935, Montecristo’s perfectly balanced blends are all created exclusively with selected filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo zone, home of the finest tobaccos in the world.

  • The draw is excellent, and it is very well constructed. Complex flavours, the last third is a bit stronger but still a very good smoke. One of the top three cigars from this manufacturer.

Reviews

Customers say
Customers generally find the Montecristo Petit Tubos to be a smooth and flavourful smoke, often praised for its accessibility and pleasant aroma. While many enjoy its consistent character and find it a good everyday option, some reviewers have noted issues with draw and burn, and a few found the flavour profile to be less complex or even harsh towards the end, suggesting a slightly mixed experience for some.
Ideal for those new to cigars or seeking a reliable, smooth smoke for a 30-40 minute break, but be aware that some customers have experienced draw or burn issues.

I am new to the cigar world and so I am probably not the best person to listen too on whether or not you should buy this cigar. I enjoyed this cigar, very smooth and pleasant to smoke. All I can say is that I thoroughly enjoyed it. I bought a sampler pack and I will be very happy if all the rest of the cigars are similar or better than this. I am already looking for a 'nice' cigar to purchase for my Father's Day gift.

I found this cigar to be very well constructed, easy to light and experienced no issues keeping it alight. This coupled with an excellent draw and plenty of smoke made it a trouble free experience, but not one I'd personally go for again. This cigar came with a reputation of consistency, and in this instance I found that to be a bit of a handicap, finding the smoke somewhat uninspiring, with little excitement, but then I suppose that does come hand in hand with consistency, however! All in all, a good, well built smoke, but not the most exciting.

I recieved one of these in a gift box and when I first lit it, I can't say I really enjoyed it. I must of had a dud, or it probably tunnelled, because I cut the burning end off (shun!) and went back to it the next day, lit it up, and WOW. All of the flavours kicked in and completely brought my mouth to life! My stick must have been a dud, as I'm sure they are normally fantastic. All in all, great Cuban cigar for beginners.
