ROMEO Y JULIETA

Named after William Shakespeare’s tragic lovers, the origins of Romeo y Julieta as a Havana date back to 1875.

The brand rose to international fame during the early years of the 20th Century under the direction of Don ‘Pepin’ Rodriguez, a talented promoter who was amongst the first to recognise the power of the cigar band. During his heyday no less than 20,000 different bands were used in the production of cigars.

Winston Churchill became a devotee of the brand and following his visit to Havana in 1946, his name has not only been commemorated on a band, but it has also served to describe the marque’s most famous size – Romeo y Julieta Churchills.

Romeo y Julieta’s balanced and aromatic blend of selected filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo zone make it the classic medium bodied Havana.

Today Romeo y Julieta is as well known around the world as ever and offers one of the widest range of tripa larga, totalmente a mano – long filler, totally handmade – sizes of any Havana brand.

CEDROS DE LUXE NO. 3

In line with Romeo’s Cedros code, the Cedros No.3 is a Petit Corona. It is as good a cigar of this size as you will find; an easy and refined smoke.

Tasting Notes

Consistent high quality of draw and strength. Sweet, creamy with hints of chocolate.

----

85 / 100

"Wrinkly with a good cap, this petit corona burns unevenly. After some wet wood and mushroom notes, the cigar warms to show medium-bodied coffee and leather flavors..."

First try of one of these. I found the draw to be quite tight and so not initially to my liking and I struggled a little to get it into full swing but eventually succeeded. Good decent lenght smoke and for sure a nice spicy tingle mid-way through. And so ultimately a very enjoyable cigar (well top notch stuff anyway!). Would recommend for sure. I am a relative novice but I did enjoy this and will buy again!

Didnt cut the mustard for me this Cigar. The embellishment of the cedar wrapper provided high hopes for me. Wasnt that well rolled, I could taste spice even though this wasnt on the tasting card. Personally, Id recommend Monte Cristo over this cuban every day of the week.

I write about my experience with cigars only It was almost solid when I took it out of the casing, I noticed a white spot resembling flour, I decided to light it. After that shear that you listened to the bones of the cigar crushed under the guillotine!! was excellent grilling and ignition as well and then began a journey will not repeat. I noticed that the cigars were slow to burn and harsh when they pulled in addition to the presence of heat indicating that the cigars were subjected to improper storage. This is what happened in a nutshell where there was no taste or smell to say only that I did not enjoy this cigar and I will keep this feeling without sharing it with others

Great cigar. Not too overbearing and lasts a considerable time. Burns evenly and consistently. Personally I like to toast the cigar using the cedar wrapping they each come in. A very relaxing smoke!

A light sheen to the wrapper and quite a light smell before lighting. The first third was a nice steady cocoa/deep coffee. The second third had hints of marzipan. The final third had elements of spice and a hint of pepper. The ash held for about an inch and was battleship grey with streaks of white. A decent 30-40 mins smoke and good value for a fair sized Cuban.
