It's said that Johnny Drum ran away from home to join the army during the American Civil war.
Once he returned home he had been granted "Corn writs" and began distilling his fine sipping whiskey from his left over crops.
It's quality shone through and it soon began being known as the best whiskey in the territory.
Boys under the age of 18 that wanted to join the service during the American Civil War often were able to do so as drummers or messengers with this whiskey being named as homage of their service.
This previously had an age statement of 15 years which has since been removed.
Sourced by Kentucky Bourbon Distillers, this is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon bottled at 101 proof.
