Johnnie Walker Black Label:
Nose: Winter spice and treacle, hints of white pepper and a little citrus.
Palate: Rich and full with notes of wood smoke and dry spice, hints of barley and cereal with creamy toffee and a distinct herbal note.
Finish: Quite fruity and long with a note of sultanas and mixed peels.
Johnnie Walker Double Black Label:
Nose: Fairly light but oily, with dry oak, honey and gently stony smoke.
Palate: The flavour is full bodied and complex with the signature Johnnie Walker peat smoke shining brightly through rich raisins and sultanas. Apples, pears and orange zest bring freshness while creamy vanilla and spice bring a softness and sweetness to the tongue.
Finish: The long warming finish combines spicy oak tannins and lingering smoke.
Johnnie Walker Red Label:
Nose: The nose is quite pungent and full. There are notes of heather roots, cut herbs, a touch of fresh fruits and honey.
Palate: The palate is quite full and rich. There are notes of malted barley and potpourri, a touch of winter spice and fruitcake.
Finish: The finish is quite long and pungent, there is a good smoke note with a touch of oak.
Johnnie Walker Gold Label:
Nose: Honeyed oats, malty with creamy vanilla, toffee popcorn and a touch of gingerbread. A herby note punches through. Really pleasant.
Palate: Sweet, smooth caramel fudge. Butterscotch. Quite waxy with honey and vanilla coming in waves.
Finish: This finishes more on the heavier side of things with sticky fruits (maybe a bit of trifle?) and faint woodsmoke.
Johnnie Walker 18 Year Old:
Nose: Sweet and floral, light vanilla custard, sweet pineapple, candied lemons, honeysuckle, sweet pastry.
Palate: More pastry up front, lightly briney, sweet citrus and a buttery vanilla cream middle with some lightly smoky malt.
Finish: Light, sweet flowers, lingering green wood
