Another of Gordon & Macphail's long-aged Glen Grants which alongside Glenfarclas, represent the best-value long-aged Speyside whiskies available.
Matured in a mix of first fill and refill sherry casks, this 1966 Glen Grant is lighter and fresher than the other expressions in the range, bottled at 40%.
Please note this comes as a single bottle, no box included.
Nose: Relatively full and sweet with notes of vanilla spice and fruitcake as well as stewed apples and Madeira as hints of fresh melon soon arrive.
Palate: Again quite full yet well balanced. There are notes of cut grass and hints of rhubarb crumble, cut kiwi fruit and a touch of gentle smoke with calvados.
Finish: Long with oak and vanilla notes.
