Dominique London had the honor of attending the global premiere of the Trinidad Vigía Reserva Cosecha 2022, held at the historic Petit Palais of the Fairmont Le Montreux Palace. Organized in collaboration with Intertabak AG—the exclusive distributor of Habanos for the Swiss market—and Habanos, S.A., the evening marked a monumental milestone in Cuban tobacco history: the unveiling of the very first Reserva in the legendary Trinidad brand’s 57-year legacy.
Bringing together 300 international guests, including business partners, aficionados, media representatives, and industry leaders, the World Premiere set an elevated benchmark for fine dining, luxury pairings, and world-class hospitality.
A Historic Milestone for Trinidad
Since its creation in 1969, Trinidad has held a celebrated status defined by understated elegance and absolute exclusivity—originally produced solely as diplomatic state gifts for visiting international dignitaries.
The release of the Trinidad Vigía Reserva Cosecha 2022 opens an unprecedented chapter. It is the first time a Trinidad cigar has received the prestigious Reserva classification, reserved exclusively for Habanos crafted from tobaccos that have undergone an extra aging process of at least three years. Every leaf selected from the 2022 harvest (Cosecha 2022) reflects pure Cuban mastery and years of meticulous care.
Presented in Trinidad’s emblematic Vigía vitola—measuring 54 ring gauge x 110 mm in length—the cigar showcases the largest ring gauge in the brand’s current portfolio, delivering its signature medium-strength profile in a Parejo format finished with Trinidad’s iconic pigtail cap.
An Evening of Exceptional Pairings
Hosted by Intertabak AG, the premiere immersed guests in an atmosphere inspired by the world of private clubs and refined sophistication.
The culinary peak of the evening featured an exclusive pairing of the newly premiered Trinidad Vigía Reserva Cosecha 2022 with The Dalmore King Alexander III single malt whisky. Guests were also treated to Henri Giraud PR 90-20 Champagne, perfectly paired alongside the Trinidad Esmeralda.
