World's Most Costly Cigar Sold
At London's Alfie Turmeaus

A young millionaire has purchased the world's most expensive cigar for a staggering £40,000 (about $65,000). The single cigar, hand made by Regius Cigars Ltd in Nicaragua, was sold to entrepreneur Callum Jones by speciality cigar merchant Alfie Turmeaus Tobacconists of Shepherd's Market in Mayfair, one of central London's finest areas.

Cigar Maker Akhil Kapacee, CEO of Regius Cigars, was on hand to serve as cigar sommelier and to personally cut and light the cigar for Jones. This single boxed double corona measured 7 5/8 inches and 49 ring gauge and had a consistently smooth, sweet flavour profile from start to end, Kapacee explained.

"We are delighted that Callum has decided to enjoy the best," Kapacee said as he handed over the unique cigar. In addition to the cigar itself, Regius Cigars will be personally flying Jones to Nicaragua to see first hand how the cigars are made. "It will be the trip of a lifetime for a cigar lover," saidKapacee. Regius Cigars will also blend and roll 1000 special Regius cigars to Jone's personal flavor, size, and strength profile.

Jones, an 18-year-old entrepreneur who made millions in coffee enterprises, also enjoys fast cars, skiing, and fine wine. "this is one of the best cigars I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying," said Jones. "I'm looking forward to finding out how these cigars are made when I visit Nicaragua."

Mitchell Orchant, owner of Alfie Turmeaus, was delighted to present the cigar to Callum. "We thought we had a good chance of selling it first even though the other five retailers worldwide who have it are very high profile, but it was a pleasant surprise when we got the phone call."

Regius Cigars is a boutique cigar company based in London. They are distributed in the USA by SAG imports, in Hong Kong by The Pacific Cigar Company, and in Germany by Wolfertz GmbH. It's cigars are carried by about 1,000 speciality tobacconists worldwide.
