V Cut VS Straight Cut - What’s The Difference?

Cigar Cutters are an important piece of equipment to all cigar smokers. The cut style you choose is completely down to personal preference. The main two cutter styles are V-Cut and Straight Cut. Read on for more details on the difference between the two...

A V-Cut cutter cuts a wedge out of the tip of your cigar. This feels very different in the mouth than a normal straight cut would and so can put some smokers off. This style of cut creates less of a draw than a guillotine cut would, but some feel it improves the bitterness of the cigar.

Straight Cut (guillotine) cutters are the most popular option and used by the vast majority of cigar smokers. This method slices the top of the cigar cap to give a full opening to enjoy the full flavour your favourite stick.

We have an excellent range of cigar cutters on our site, beautiful designs and well-known trusted brands. Check out our range of cigar cutters here
