The colouring of the blend is mostly black with scattered ribbons of golden brown.
Its aroma is of a smooth whiskey and creamy caramel with subtleties of dried fruit.
The coarse cut is moist without being wet and is easy to work with. It lights with ease and burns thoroughly and throughout, leaving dry ash.

Gawith Hoggarth's Spirit of Scotland (American Whisky) is a blend of sweet Virginias, Burley and a good helping of double fermented Black Cavendish that have been moderately topped with scotch whisky.
There are light vanilla and caramel notes present which in combination with the whisky creates a mellow bourbon like flavour.
There's little bitterness and the sweetness is just right.
