The Caroni distillery, owned by the states of Trinité and Tobago, closed its doors in 2002.
After 84 years of production, it leaves behind it a few stills with columns, stills pot and some barrels that gave birth to vintage rums.
Released in late 2017 this is a very interesting release from Velier!
A blend of rums from three different islands, this Navy Rum is a blend of rum from the old style British Caribbean – so we have rum from Trinidad, Guyana and Jamaica.
Please note, this bottle is limited to 1 per customer.
Nose: It’s very nice, warming and involving nose. Rich and deep!
Palate: Enveloping the nose is a really nice vanilla and oak with some really nicely balanced spice and just a touch of lemon zest.
Finish: The initial sweetness on the tongue quickly becomes oaky and bitter with a spiced finish.
