Herman Upmann was a banker from Germany who so loved Cuban cigars that he moved to Havana in 1844 and set up as both banker and cigar maker. His bank closed in the early 1920's but his cigars live on as a fine example of an elegant, light to medium flavoured Habano.

    H. Upmann's blend is composed exclusively of filler and binder tobaccos grown in the Vuelta Abajo zone.

Gold medals in no less than eleven international exhibitions during the 19th Century can be found on the brand's labelled boxes.

  • This cigar is creamy with hints of coffee and some nutty flavours as well. This small havana promises to have a good future. Attractive, good draw, thick smoke with complex flavors for such a small cigar. Simply excellent.

Reviews

Customers say
Customers generally find these H. Upmann Coronas J Tubed Cigars to be a pleasant, mild smoke with good flavour, often recommended for beginners or those seeking a lighter experience. However, a significant number of reviews highlight inconsistent construction, with many experiencing a tight draw or issues with the cigar staying lit, which can detract from the overall enjoyment.
Best suited for those new to cigars or who prefer a mild, flavourful smoke, provided you are prepared for the possibility of occasional draw issues.

These are very nice cigars but i have to give it one star. unfortunately one of the sticks i was not able to draw from. it was soo tight that i couldn't smoke it. I tried cutting the top to see if it helps but no luck. i had to throw away. fro £8 cigar you would expect more consistency especially from U.Uppmann.

I really would like to add 5 stars, H Upmann is a personal favourite and this one is a regular smoke of mine it's perfect smoke time for most occasions for me and the flavours are perfect for my taste creamy, nut, smooth smoke and with a good puff to it..... Well there's the downfall out of average 25 I get 4 tight draws. It's real shame because they really are good little sticks, I do recommend for the price. It's just one of those you can't trust full heartedly.

I have to admit that as someone who only smokes the occasional cigar I am a lightweight when it comes to my choices. I used to smoke a range of coronas and tres petit, and before arriving at these Upmann's, I would have said my favourite smokes would (at different times) have been: Diplomaticos, Romeo y Julieta, Bolivar, Ramon Allones or Partagas - all in the shorter sizes. I always avoided this ring gauge (36) because I thought they would burn faster and hotter and only ended up buying one as they were available locally and I mistakenly thought they were a mareva. To my significant surprise these don't burn fast or hot and offer a delightfully smooth and flavoursome smoke for a lightweight like me. The are a little more flavoursome than the Diplamaticos and remind me of a Bolivar with a little more edge (towards a RyJ) and have a delightful aroma when smoked. I couldn't recommend these enough, they are great value (especially when you buy 25).

Like the original reviewer, this cigar was my 'Eureka!' moment, too. I'm a complete novice so I'm not going to try and pretend I noticed all the subtler notes in this cigar, but around the halfway mark it hit a smooth, slightly sweet note that was absolutely beautiful. I will definitely investigate these lovely smokes further. This cigar gave me 40 minutes of deeply relaxed, contemplative bliss. 5 stars from this newbie right now. Just about to buy some more.
