Another more obscure distillery and the first new distillery to be constructed in the 20th Century in Scotland, it is located approximately 1 km south of the River Spey.
Its water source is the Achvochkie Burn. This more boutique dram is sure to hold its value as little aged Tormore is in circulation unless independently bottled.
Nose: There is the classic fresh green apple, toffee and the sweet vanilla famously associated with the Speyside style.
Palate: You’ll get more of that sweet vanilla with honeyed malt with a nice fresh touch from lemon and lime citrus hints.
Finish: A little spicier but soon mellows out into a sweet nuttiness with the ever-present vanilla hanging on.
