PLASENCIA
Plasencia Cigars, the leading producer of premium cigars and the largest producer of tobacco in Central America, was awarded 1st place in a consumer cigar blind tasting held by Manuel’s, one of the finest and most renowned cigar shops in Zürich, Switzerland. The award was conferred for its Alma del Campo Tribu cigar, one of the company's first brand name cigars to be introduced to the market.
Plasencias goal is to use the best leaves of aged tobacco exclusively in their cigars leaving them in the hands of the best collaborators in the fields and artists of the factories.
ALMA FUERTE
For the Alma Fuerte, a team of five blenders, including Plasencia, Sr. and Jr., worked to create the cigar from 100% Nicaraguan tobaccos. The blend focuses around the family’s Criollo ’98 seed, using tobaccos from each of the major growing regions of Nicaragua (Condega, Estelí, Jalapa, and Ometepe). In addition, the Plasencias are using some of their rarest and most premium-grade leaves from their vast tobacco inventories.
ALMA DEL CAMPO
The Alma Series was ranked the Best Cigar of the Year 2017 by Cigar Snob Magazine.
Alma Del Campo received a total rating of 91 points out of a possible 100, securing its spot as the champion among cigars from all over the world -a title which was previously held by Cuban Juan Lopez Seleccion No. 2 in 2014.
EDUARDO I
Eduardo Plasencia was the pioneer of the Plasencia tobacco family. He migrated from the Canary Islands to Cuba and started growing tobacco in 1865 and thus the Plasencia tobacco legacy was born. Today, the Plasencia tobacco family is in its 5th generation and the decision was made to create a vitola in homage, the Eduardo I.
The Colorado Claro wrapper which comes from the vast Plasencia tobacco library was aged for over 10 years, which results in a smoother smoking experience.
ROBUSTUS II
The Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro Robustus II is a new vitola in the existing Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro line. This is the first vitola in the line that is round, as opposed to box pressed.
The Colorado Claro wrapper, which comes from the vast Plasencia tobacco library, has been aged 10 years.
