Released in 2013, Teeling Single Grain Irish Whiskey is crafted using an unconventional mash bill consisting of 95% corn and 5% malted barley that has been triple distilled and matured exclusively in French oak Ex-Cabernet Sauvignon red wine casks from California, producing a truly unique Irish Whiskey
In 2013 it won the award of 'Best Irish Single Grain' in the Irish Whisky Awards.
Nose: Meaty and sweet with bitter tannins, toffee, fudge and green leaves. There is also hints of dried mixed herbs, dark chocolate, marmalade and anise.
Palate: Toffee, spice (cinnamon and nutmeg), orchard fruit, grape skin, polished oak and butterscotch.
Finish: Grape skin and red wine with spiced butter and shortbread.
