This is a young Talisker bottled at cask strength by Diageo for the Special Releases 2024.
Aged in casks for eight years, the barrel’s original layers of char were polished away by rocks and water, then lightly re-toasted.
Bottled at a powerful 58.7% ABV, the whisky delivers Talisker’s signature coastal peat smoke, alongside notes of poached pears and crisp green apples, evolving into seaweed, salt spray and freshly cracked black pepper.
A vibrant and intriguing release that showcases both innovation and the unmistakable Talisker house style.
Nose: Crisp and fresh. Waves of sea spray and gentle bonfire smoke intertwine with crisp orchard fruits like green apples and poached pears, undercut by zesty citrus and creamy vanilla.
Palate: Intense, rich, and tongue-tingling. Sweet notes of baked apple, honey, and salted toffee are quickly met by Talisker's hallmark cracked black pepper, savory seaweed, and a mineral-rich, stony brine.
