Speymalt From Macallan 1973 Whisky (Bottled 2015) 70cl 43%

Gordon & MacPhail bottles a series of single malt whiskies from one of the world's most famous distilleries - Macallan. Established in 1824 the distillery overlooks some of the finest fishing beats on the River Spey.

Released as part of Gordon & MacPhail's Speymalt range, this is a long-aged whisky from the distillery in Speyside.

It was distilled in 1973 and bottled by Gordon & Macphail in 2015 at 43% ABV.

AROMA without water:
Rich Sherry influences with stewed prunes, fresh orange and hints of marzipan. A delicate beeswax polish note then combines with charred oak aromas resulting in a stunning aroma alone.
TASTE without water:
Black cracked pepper initially with fruit, specifically grapefruit, ripe bananas and oranges. This is then complemented by a dark chocolate edge. A delicate trace of clove spice is present.

AROMA with water:
Again, initially delicate beeswax aromas with hints of prune and fresh resinous wood complemented by a lingering menthol note.
TASTE with water:
Sweet with vanilla with ripe banana and fresh apples. Subtle hints of citrus, lemon develop and lead to a cigar ash edge.
