This Scapa Glansa is a new release from Orkney’s Scapa Distillery.
The name Scapa Glansa is derived from the Old Norse for shining storm-laden skies, and is a celebration of contrasts inspired by the sanctuary of the distillery and the stormy skies and seas that often surround it.
Taking their signature smooth honey single malt, which is aged in 100% first-fill American oak, this expression is then rested in an expert selection of peated casks creating richness and depth, giving way to a subtle smoky finish.
Nose: Fruity with sweet notes of soft peach, pineapple and delicious vanilla combined with subtle bonfire smoke.
Palate: Peach flavours and creamy caramel toffee as well as vanilla which is balanced perfectly with soft smoke.
Finish: Very long with a markedly smoky finish.
