Description

5 year old Cuban rum distilled in Heriberto Duquesne, Villa Clara.

Ron Mulata characteristically produce a lighter style of rum (which the distillery attributed to the rum being matured in 180 litre oak casks) that suits being enjoyed neat, although it is still a stunning rum with a few ice cubes or perhaps poured in a simple cocktail.

Ron Mulata Añejo 5 Years is a rum best served chilled and neat, with a few ice cubes if you so wish. It is sweet, but not overpoweringly so. It goes down at its best when cold. There is a slight fiery touch on the palate, followed with a deep and rich walnut and vanilla flavour. The spice doesn't overstay it's welcome, soon becoming nice and smooth. This is certainly one of the finest dark rums that I have tried, with its distinct and unique flavours topped only by the more aged Ron Mulata 15 Year Old Gran Reserva Añejo.
