    RAFAEL GONZALEZ

Rafael González was created in the 1930’s and its cigars contain a light tasting blend of filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo zone.

It was in this brand that the 6 1/2 inch by 42 gauge cigar, which has the factory name of Cervantes, was the first called a Lonsdale after Lord Lonsdale, the famous English sporting Earl and cigar aficionado of that period. Now many other brands use the name as well.

On its lid label each box carries a curious inscription written in English to the effect that the cigars should be smoked within one month of the date of shipment from Havana or otherwise they should be carefully matured for about one year.

All sizes are made by the ‘tripa larga, totalmente a mano’ – long filler, totally handmade technique.

    PETIT CORONAS

A light, elegant Petit Corona with a taste that makes it an ideal way to start the day.

  • Mild in aroma and flavour, best after a light summer lunch. The construction is very good and the draw is excellent, all a good representation of what a mild cuban should be.

Reviews

Customers say
Customers generally find the Rafael Gonzalez Petit Coronas to be a well-constructed and consistent cigar, often praised for its smooth draw and mild-to-medium strength, making it approachable for new smokers. While many enjoy its creamy, woody, and sometimes sweet or spicy flavour profile, a few reviewers have experienced issues with burn or draw, and some find the flavour profile less complex than other Cubans.
Ideal for new cigar smokers or those seeking a consistent, mild-to-medium Cuban with a smooth draw for an everyday smoke, especially if you appreciate woody, creamy, or subtle sweet/spicy notes.

This is one of my favourite little sticks. A very neatly constructed, nice smelling cigar (ceder and mild tobacco). Not a hugely extensive flavour profile. But the mild/medium smoke carries woody and sweet tobacco notes. Short finish but this is all you need in a little smoke. The best thing about these though is that they are so so consistant - Burn, timing, flavour, construction - once you have had a couple you know exactly what your getting. Excellent small sticks.

I don't know if I'm being biased as this is the first Cuban I tried, but it is my favourite. I've tried other mild to medium Cubans, but this cigar has more flavour and aroma than most. I've not had one that I found disappointing. If you have to settle for a single cigar, this is it.

A nice cinnamon taste to start, growing stronger as you smoke it down. Complex flavors of spice develop, sweet and strong. Excellent draw, lots of smoke and strong finish. written by Michael

Well knock me down with a feather. Im not usually a light cigar fan but this was very nice. There was enough flavour for an afternoon smoke in the sunshine to keep my interested. Subtle and fragrant cedar and little leather. Yes, well worth trying to see if it floats your boat. written by Asgard

I am a fan of this size and general and the flavour you come to expect from it. This one is an excellent example. Mild to medium, consistent and very pleasant. Works well after lunch. written by Mihai
