Por Larranaga is a brand with a long history. Founded in 1834, it enjoys a well earned reputation for its consistency and good presentation. Por Larrañaga cigars are handmade using long-filler tobacco leaves harvested from the world famous Pinar del Rio region of Cuba.

The cigars are Tripa Larga (long filler) and carry the distinct aromas found in this light to medium brand.

Tasting Notes

One of the best Cuban Marevas of the cuban size. A great balance between quality and price, this cigar offers extremely good value. Medium taste, good aroma. One of the most appreciated cigars from this manufacturer.

"...There's a salty, nutty quality to this veiny petit corona that remains medium-bodied throughout. Hints of walnut shell lead to an oaky finish..."

Was quite excited to try this cigar following all of the excellent reviews of it. Unfortunately I feel a little let down by the experience. Both me and my gf found the first third of the cigar to be really quite harsh. The middle third was good with excellent flavours and a much more mellow smoke. But it returned to harshness for the final third. Will not likely be buying these again.

Recently retired on health grounds so have time to enjoy the finer things in life. I smoked my first Por Larranaga Petit Coronas outside on my garden patio, in Luton, while storm Ali was blowing through. I had Buena Vista Social Club playing out of my cordless JBL speaker. A mug of Twinnings Breakfast Tea helped to clear my palate. The cigar feels great in the hand and lit well in the squarly winds. Lovely grey ash and burn was easy 40 minutes down to the last inch. Draw was fantastic and my palate was left with a creamy finish. I now know why the Por Larranaga Petit Coronas is so popular. I am new to cigars and this was easy and effortless and flavoursome without being overpowering. No bitterness and just right for me.

Favourite cigar to date. Im not very experienced but what I found was it was very creamy all the way through. I was surprised when into the 2/3 i started to get abit of spice which I really enjoyed. In the last 3rd there was strong caramel/ honey notes which I have never tasted before. 100% buying more

Being new to cigars I have been relying on reviews to guide my purchases and I can endorse all of the praise which other reviewers have levelled at this cigar. Being an experienced review reader I appreciate the short ones so getting to the point, It is simply perfect for me and I would recommend these all day long.

Quite a subtle sheen to the wrapper and smelt fairly light and sweet pre-light. Having read the description on CGars I was surprised that the initial few puffs were reasonably strong and leathery, however after smoking for just a few minutes this strength gave way to a very sweet, honey, caramel flavour which was a lovely surprise. The sweetness lasted down into the final third, where the strong leathery flavour then re-appeared. There was a slightly uneven burn in the first third which sorted itself out by the second third. White and streaky grey 'toothy'ash which seemed to hold better as the cigar evolved. Burn time of around 40 mins. My first Por Larranaga but I would definitely give this brand another try in future.
