Possibly one of Penderyn's most adventurous spirit yet! The 12 year old showcases the bright, fruit-driven character of Penderyn.
Bottled at 46% ABV and presented in its original box, the whisky combines ripe red berries, orchard fruit, vanilla, honeyed malt and gentle toasted oak. Twelve years of maturation have added greater depth without covering the clean fruit character for which Penderyn is known.
It offers a useful middle point within the Penderyn range.
The whisky carries more age and oak influence than the distillery’s younger core expressions, while remaining softer and more accessible than its high-strength single-cask releases or the older 21 year old.
Nose: Vibrant and layered. Vanilla, honey, and orchard fruit layered with red berries, plum and gentle oak spice.
Palate: Full-bodied and soft, with Penderyn’s signature fruit-forward character shining through. Vanilla fudge, and baked apples, cherry, spiced plum mingle with hints of spice and nutmeg.
Finish: Long and warming, with lingering notes of vanilla, red berries, and toasted oak.
