De Olifant Slim Panatella - Panarillo Cigar - Box of 10

For such a low price, I found this cigar quite tasty. It stated with a sweetness that grew into something spicy and quite full bodied. It was rough around the edges and didnt burn particularly evenly. The final third wasnt very nice if Im honest but I got 30 minutes out of it before I wanted to put it down. Not bad for a dry cigar. Better than over the counter rubbish but I wont buy it again. It IS cheap though. So it has that going for it. No label or cellophane wrapper but no need for a humidor. That has its advantages for some.

Pleasant surprise, nice smoke a bit rough in terms of construction however, burned well and was a mild 30min smoke. For the price definitely worth having a few tucked away for a mid week coffee.

Quite a potent little smoke. Burned well and had a nice spicy flavour. Ill be buying more.

I smoked one of these to compare with the Nicaraguan and Honduran panatelas from La Invicta. This is slightly longer, thicker and more robust, but the flavour difference to me was like a slightly rough Dutch cigar (not as nice as some OTC offerings IMO) compared to cigars that I thought tasted like real cigars, albeit bundle cigars. I think the benefits of this De Olifant over those New World cigars are the following: 1. It slightly wider and longer so I felt like you get more cigar for your money - about the same price on other websites. 2. Its pre-cut and dry cured so it doesnt require a cutter or humidor. You can just keep a box of these around or a few in your car glovebox - this makes it more versatile, similar to Guantanameras vs Jose L. Piedras. If you have need for something like this I recommend buying one and trying it to see if you like it.
