Nostrano del Brenta are hand finished cigars and are the only cigar brand produced in Italy, which is from entirely Italian tobacco. Other cigars contain a lot of Kentucky tobacco imported from the US.

The Nostrano del Brenta tobacco is unique to the Veneto (pronounced VENNETTO) region of northern Italy, of which Venice is the capital. There is just 1 harvest a year given the European climate.

The tobacco is reputedly from Cuban seed brought by a monk into Italy around 1550. The tobacco is recorded to have been produced for smoking from 1763.

All the cigars have names associated with the Venetian state or Italy - Il Doge was the historic ruler of Venice, Casanova the famous romantic lover, Clandestino is in relation to historic clandestine tobacco smuggling of which they are very proud, and Taliano refers to a half-Italian community that formed in South America. Il Doge and the Taliano cigars are the traditional Italian shape - like an airship - and which are meant to be cut in half and shared with your friend over an espresso or beer.

The producer is akin to a regionally devoted craft beer producer. They are very proud of their heritage and also their production which is local to them and largely unchanged over time.

This small cigar is perfect for a quick smoke break whilst still getting the full satisfaction of smoking a larger cigar. Due to the small size, the quality of taste comes immediately after the first draft. The typical aromas of Tobacco Nostrano del Brenta are enhanced by a specific manufacturing process, which provides leaves used in wrapper and binder of the cigar pass twice in the fermentation cell.

These cigars are produced completely by hand with wrapper and binder using short filler Tobacco aged at last three years and cultivated only in Veneto Region.

  • The Clandestino has pleasant herbaceous aroma and a delicate hint of honey. When lit, it develops intense aromas of wood, leather and coffee. The bouquet then evolves towards the middle of the cigar, with notes of cocoa and toasting. The smoke proceeds in a constant and balanced way, the nicotine strength is not excessive, and allows enjoyment of the cigar until the end.

Reviews

Customers say
Customers generally find this a unique and enjoyable cigar, often praising its distinct flavour profile and solid construction. While many appreciate its medium strength and even burn, some reviewers note a tighter draw than preferred and a flavour that might be an acquired taste for those accustomed to other cigar types.
Best suited for adventurous palates or those familiar with Italian dry-cured cigars, especially if you appreciate unique herbaceous and earthy notes and don't mind a potentially tighter draw.

Beautiful cigar - so surprising! Great draw and smoke output - much more complex than expected - walnuts and spice on the retrohale - great flavours of chocolate and leather - balanced and meaty! Please give this at least a month in your humidor before you smoke it and do away with that box it comes in. One of my top 5 cigars ;-)

Ok! Here we go! Just smoked my first one of these! Cheaper cigars are dry! Or dry on the palet! ( that, a hamster slept in my mouth feeling!) This is consistent but one dimensional. Is a siglo 6 better? Your damn right its better! Can i afford a box of em?!! Nope!! Will i smoke more of these?! Yup!! But cheaper cigars are dry and papery! Cubans are comlex and gorgeous! These are the facts! We as smokers need a fix! Italian cured is as close as you can get! This is the truth! Make of it what you will!

Now my new favourite smoke. Remarkably I got a flavours just as the tasting notes suggested. The floral part in the middle, Violets and Gin made me smile. Medium without harshness, started with warmth and then botanicals developed like a summers day. Will be buying many more.

I bought this cigar purely on the shape, and thought I would give it a go. Fortune favours the brave:) I really enjoyed it. Definitely medium in Strength, but not strong. The draw was a little tight but not enough to spoil the smoke. I will be buying more.
