Sold exclusively in the UK at C.Gars Ltd.

Nostrano del Brenta are hand finished cigars and are the only cigar brand produced in Italy, which is from entirely Italian tobacco. Other cigars contain a lot of Kentucky tobacco imported from the US.

The Nostrano del Brenta tobacco is unique to the Veneto (pronounced VENNETTO) region of northern Italy, of which Venice is the capital. There is just 1 harvest a year given the European climate.

The tobacco is reputedly from Cuban seed brought by a monk into Italy around 1550. The tobacco is recorded to have been produced for smoking from 1763.

All the cigars have names associated with the Venetian state or Italy - Il Doge was the historic ruler of Venice, Casanova the famous romantic lover, Clandestino is in relation to historic clandestine tobacco smuggling of which they are very proud, and Taliano refers to a half-Italian community that formed in South America. Il Doge and the Taliano cigars are the traditional Italian shape - like an airship - and which are meant to be cut in half and shared with your friend over an espresso or beer.

The producer is akin to a regionally devoted craft beer producer. They are very proud of their heritage and also their production which is local to them and largely unchanged over time.

This small cigar is perfect for a quick smoke break whilst still getting the full satisfaction of smoking a larger cigar. Due to the small size, the quality of taste comes immediately after the first draft. The typical aromas of Tobacco Nostrano del Brenta are enhanced by a specific manufacturing process, which provides leaves used in wrapper and binder of the cigar pass twice in the fermentation cell.

These cigars are produced completely by hand with wrapper and binder using short filler Tobacco aged at last three years and cultivated only in Veneto Region.

More Info

The Clandestino has pleasant herbaceous aroma and a delicate hint of honey. When lit, it develops intense aromas of wood, leather and coffee. The bouquet then evolves towards the middle of the cigar, with notes of cocoa and toasting. The smoke proceeds in a constant and balanced way, the nicotine strength is not excessive, and allows enjoyment of the cigar until the end.

Wow, what a lovely little cigar, I ordered one with my regular Gurkha 30th anniversary tin of 5. The cigar never made it to my humidor I tried it as soon as it arrived, its not a complicated cigar at all, its not harsh nor is it weak, its just very very pleasant. Was that impressed I ordered another 5 of them straight away, this time Ill put them in the humidor for a while see if there is any difference in taste. The cigar burnt well, the ash held brilliantly, for the money you cant go wrong. Well worth a try.

Not a bad cigar, but the draw was tighter than IÂ’m usually used too, but IÂ’ve only had one and plan on more in the future. These cigars are dry cured, so need for a humidor (Unless by choice!) The feel and shape is just magnificent to hold. Very heavy, with an old and vintage look which IÂ’ve come to love about Italian cigars. It had a surprisingly good even burn, which took me by surprise. The smoke was a little lacklustre compared to other smaller ring gauge Italian cigars. I did double draws and managed to get better smoke, but the draw was a little tight, but IÂ’m mostly putting that down to experience with those particular cigar. I wonÂ’t bore you with flavour profiles, but IÂ’d say itÂ’s worth it on cost, feel, character and taste. Give it a try, and if you donÂ’t like it then donÂ’t get another. Me, personally, IÂ’ll try a few more and leave another review. All in all, a decent cigar for a decent price.

I got my clandestino about a month ago and Ive had it out of the little box it came in and resting in my humidor since it arrived. I ended up smoking it purely because I couldnt find my cutter and this was a nice chunky cigar that seemed like it might satisfy at the end of a sizzling hot summers day. On lighting the cigar I found the flavour to be a lot milder than I had hoped for, but very pleasant, a creamy smooth smoke that I got a bit of a buttery mushroom scent from. As I got it going a bit more it had more of the taste I remember milky coffee having (I dont like milky coffee but in a cigar it was nice). I found I had to work for a good pull at times but was rewarded with occasional sweet chocolate. The burn was good, and the ash went to almost 2 inches before I broke it off for fear of dropping it on myself. I think for £10 this is a great little cigar. It wasnt exactly what I was wanting tonight but it was I nice smoke. I had mine with flor de cana rum but I reckon a coffee would have gone down better with this one.

Ordered 2 of these to try out something different . Took my time to light it properly and found it to be a very good smoke . Took them out of their boxes and placed in a desktop humidor for a week or so , although they seem hard and dry they were very good to puff on and were also rolled very very well , lasted about an hour , bonus . Give them ago . I would purchase again .

This cigar came to me feeling a bit dry, I discarded its little box and put it to rest in the humidor for month by which time it was looking and smelling wonderful. Compared to Toscano and other Italian cigars it is well rolled and nicely presented. It would not be right to compare it to a Cuban, they wont be to everyones taste but they are unique and of interest to an adventurous palate or an Italian sympathiser. It lit well and with that first puff my taste buds were hit by an extraordinary combination of herbaceous notes, particularly mint and aniseed with supportive and very appealing dry, earthy tobacco flavours. It burned evenly and with a steadiness that allowed for a good quantity of smoke without being hot. The ash was almost white and very solid. The flavours and aroma remained rich and defined throughout and about halfway down the mint turned towards menthol and the whole experience was reminiscent of strolling through a rocky sun drenched herb garden. It smoked down further than I had expected and gave me about 40 mins of curious pleasure. It was certainly unusual but very enjoyable. I think it ought to be smoked post lunch in the sun with one of those herby digestif liqueurs.
