The North Port Distillery was closed down for good in the 80s, shortly after this whisky was distilled there.
Introducing a special edition 36-year-old North Port Brechin 1981 bottled by Signatory Vintage in 2018 for their 30th Anniversary celebrations.
Matured for thirty-six years in a refill sherry butt, before being bottled as part of the 30th Anniversary Collection from Signatory Vintage.
Like the rest of the Signatory 30th Anniversary bottlings, this North port Brechin is beautifully presented in a black lacquered box with two Signatory Vintage branded Glencairn glasses.
Nose: The initial nose is medicinal and herbaceous with hints of plum. Allowed to breathe it becomes malty and spicy.
Palate: Sage and honeysuckle with earthy saffron notes.
Finish: Full of apricot and pineapple.
