Montecristo Petit No. 2 Cigar - Box of 10

Unfortunately I spoiled my first experience with the Petit No. 2 due to a slip of the hand during lighting which incinerated the wrapper and led to burn problems, but I had 3 more and so onwards and upwards. My second experience however was divine, the first third was actually the best part of the whole cigar with a lovely creamy, buttery and spicy taste. Past the 2nd third these flavours made way and I got rich flavours of wood and nuts but with a mellow smoothness about them, never overpowering. in the 3/3 the signature buttery flavour showed it's face again in combination with a balanced and no nonesense rich Cuban tobacco taste. Simply superb. I wish I could smoke these every day but my bank would strongly disagree.

The cigar looked flawless, smelt amazing and had been stored perfectly. From first light it was nothing short of BRILLIANT. The first 1/3 was fantastic! Not very spicy, more Monty number 2 esc, cream and buttery. After the first third, either the cigar dulled, or I got used to it. The stick turned slightly blander and less exciting in its flavours, but as I say, this could have been me settling into it and taking the No.2 for granted after the initial influx of perfection. The draw was perfect throughout, and the burn: Faultlessly even. Could I buy a box of these? I'd probably have to try a second to be sure, but first I want to directly compare the Regatta this weekend. A Cigar I have smoked many times before, so I expect a close competition. I am not the number 2's biggest fan, as it can be overwhelmingly buttery to the pallet. But as usual, there is a time and a place for a multitude of different smokes. Pretty much perfect little 40 minutes of enjoyment. Nice strength, no bitterness, enough complexity to make it a grown ups cigar. This is definitely going on my favourites list from now on in. Would thoroughly recommend.

Monte's now choosen cuban for regular weekly smoke working my way through their variations . The petit no.2 is smaller stick with all the enjoyment of it's bigger bro when time is limited . Excellent 40 minute smoke . Worth having couple in humidor for the summer cigar sessions

WOW, really enjoyed this one, (if you read my review on the Sancho Belicosos you probably said , "theres no pleaseing this guy" ) well this one is now going to be one of my regulars. Excellent flavor, lightly spicy(not overbearing,would say its a light side medium), definately some cocoa and expresso hints in here that made it a pleasure to taste, and was never to rough through out the whole smoke (down to the nub)medium spicyness on finish. Burn was nice and even and at a good pace, aroma is a tad stronger but pleasing. Smoke production was PERFECT! If you want a 35-45 minute smoke that you want some flavor but don't want you eyes bugging out when you finish. Its good with literally anything from bottled water to a fine burgundy or Scotch. (mine was with a plain coffee and was great, second one was with a glass of ice water and lemon....again great) then definately worth buying a couple to try.
