The Mitchellero Novellini was a straightforward smoke that felt very much like an everyday kind of cigar. ItÂ’s small and quick, which makes it convenient, but it doesnÂ’t deliver the same depth as some of the larger formats. Flavor-wise, itÂ’s earthy and woody with just a touch of pepper, but it stays fairly one-dimensional throughout. The draw was a bit tight on the one I smoked, though still manageable. The burn was mostly even, and the ash held on better than I expected for a smaller cigar. This isnÂ’t a complex or fancy smoke, but I can see it being handy for situations where you donÂ’t have time for a full robusto or corona. It has a rustic charm, but compared to the Mitchellero Robusto, it felt a little underwhelming. The strength is mild-to-medium, so itÂ’s easy enough for a beginner to handle, though it doesnÂ’t really deliver the same satisfaction as some of the other cigars IÂ’ve tried. Overall, IÂ’d say it works as a casual or quick smoke, but it wouldnÂ’t be my first choice if I had more time.
