The name Macanudo, originated in Cuba in 1868, originally came from a vitola of the Punch cigar brand – the Punch Macanudo was the most popular size in the United Kingdom for many years. Due to the ‘dollar controls’ during World War II, United Kingdom could no longer import goods from Cuba, and hence the Macanudo shape was made in Jamaica at the Temple Hall Factory.
Macanudo Café as we know it today, was introduced in the United States in the early Seventies of the previous century, where it quickly became the best-selling hand-made cigar.
Every Macanudo is hand-made in the Dominican Republic and is wrapped in a Connecticut shade wrapper, which covers an elegant blend of Dominican and Mexican tobacco and a binder that is cultivated in the fertile regions of San Andres Tuxtla in Mexico. Only extensively matured tobaccos are used to ensure that each cigar always has the same familiar, mild aroma.
Every time you light up a Macanudo you can rely on the same leisurely and pleasant experience. The Macanudo range produces the same distinctive and characteristic mild fragrance for every smoke.
