The Master Blenders and Craftsmen of Macanudo have proven their skills again with the magnificent Macanudo Inspirado.

Macanudo Inspirado is handmade from Honduran, Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos and is held together by a binder from the Jamastran Valley in Honduras. All this pride is wrapped in an oily and rich Rosada leaf from San Agustin, Honduras.

The story of Macanudo Inspirado begins in 2014, after more than one year of development of the blend and packaging, under the auspices of the International Hand-Made Cigar team of Scandinavian Tobacco Group.

The process began with the shade-grown Olancho San Agustin wrapper tobacco that grows in ideal climatic conditions which lead to the expression of essential oils on the leaf. When processed, the natural oils contribute to the cigar’s unique Rosada appearance, earthy flavour and medium- to full-bodied aroma.

To achieve the uniquely and complex medium- to full-bodied taste, the flavourful Olancho San Agustin wrapper was combined with a spicy Jamastran Seco binder and a blend of Honduran, Nicaraguan and Dominican tobacco. The Nicaragua Viso tobacco, used in the filler, is grown on the fertile volcano island Ometepe in Lake Nicaragua and gives strength and spice to the blend. The Piloto Cubano from Dominican Republic gives the cigar a sweet tone till the last puff of smoke . The result is a blend that provides you with a unique smoking experience that develops and celebrates the nuances of this marriage of various tobaccos.

Macanudo Inspirado has been developed for the international palate and is presented in a more contemporary eye-catching packaging Macanudo box than ever before. A handsome newly designed box which pays homage to the Macanudo heritage. The warm orange colour scheme on the box celebrates the Rosada wrapper from Olancho, San Agustin valley in Honduras.

You will be inspired while enjoying Macanudo Inspirado.

Wow what a cigar! I’m still new ish to cigars but I’ve tried lots and this is in my top 3. A nice sweetness with a hint of citrus on light up and throughout, with a little kick of spice in the final third. For a £12 cigar I’ll definitely stock my humidor with these, it became a little bitter towards the end but I did smoke it right down to the nub as I didn’t want to put it down it was that good. Will definitely try more from Macanudo

The cigar was well consructed and tightly packed. It lasted longer than any petit corona I've ever smoked. The burn was even-ish and the draw about right. However that's where my praise ends. I cannot recocile the 'medium' description of this cigar with reality. For me it's mild all day long. I don't mind a mild cigar provided it has a decent level of flavour. The Inspirado doesn't. The earthy, nutty, woody and spice flavours are so weak. There are other cigars out there with a similar or better flavour profile that cost way less than one of these. As such it's a big disappointment. Taking all things into account I cannot recommend this cigar at all.

Picked up one of these on recommendation from the Liverpool shop, and was delighted with a full hour's mild smoke. Lit perfectly, burned slowly and evenly, and offered complementary and flavoursome tones throughout. Would definitely try more and perhaps try the 1968 brand. Great recommendation and value.

Certainly a fine looking cigar however I found it a bit too prickly on the tongue and during the last third I picked up on an almost soapy back note which I didn't like. Do these need more time in the humidor? I honestly don't know. For a few pence more I would go for the 1968 Corona which I thoroughly enjoyed. All this with the caveat that I have only tried one of each so far...... To be fair the burn was excellent and someone else may really enjoy this, it is in no way a bad cigar, especially at this price.

Enjoyed this on a sunny English afternoon, a beautifully crafted stick. Razor sharp burn and long ash. Lasting just over an hour - phenomenal value for money at less than a tenner!. Lovely mixture of a sweet spice running through the stick with an earthy middle transition. Highly recommend!
