Produced at Hiram Walker Distillery in Canada, one of the largest spirits producers in North America, the spirit is marked by pronounced earthy rye aromas, backed up by caramel, figs and orange peel.
Lot No. 40’s use of 100% rye is unusual in modern whisky production as the flavoursome grain is difficult to process. The whisky showcases rye’s complexities by using new, charred American oak barrels for maturation.
Amazingly complex with notes of rye bread, pepper and soft spice along with rich vanilla, elegant citrus and ripe orchard fruits.
Nose: Full and zesty.
Palate: Bold rich oak with hints of vanilla and toffee. Overall, sweet and refreshing.
Finish: The theme of the palate continues, with the refreshing and sweet tone.
