A 1999 vintage Ledaig bottle from independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail as part of the Connoisseurs Choice range, bottled in 2015.
Ledaig is the name for peated whisky produced at Tobermory on the Isle of Mull.
This Peated Island dram was matured in refill made Hogsheads and bottled at 46% ABV.
AROMA WITHOUT WATER:
Initially sweet cured meat aromas with stewed apple, lemon and lime citrus as a delicate menthol note develops.
TASTE WITHOUT WATER:
Peppery with ripe banana, orange and mango complimented by a delicious chocolate edge.
AROMA WITH WATER:
Meat aromas - cured bacon with lime, stewed apple and delicate peat smoke notes.
TASTE WITH WATER:
Peppery, initially with orange zest, green apple and ripe banana flavours which are nicely complemented by a cigar ash edge.
