Knob Creek Bourbon is small-batch produced and aged for longer than most Kentucky bourbons.
'Straight Bourbon' must be aged at least 2 years and doesn't have anything added and the age stated on its label must be the age of the youngest whiskey in the bottle.
Knob Creek uses American white oak barrels which are charred over an open fire for a 'level 4 char'... the deepest char possible.
The rackhouse cycles with the seasons, which allows the bourbon to breathe in and out of the charred barrel. Each natural cycle in and out of the wood adds the rich amber colour and the distinctive flavours that go into each small batch.
Nose: Rich, sweet, woody, full-bodied, almost fruity.
Palate: The Bourbon is also rich in taste. Not dominant but recognizable is the vanilla, followed by a fresh fruity note that delights the palate. Here you can taste various fruits and forest aromas that give Knob Creek Kentucky Straight Bourbon fine details.
Finish: The finish also presents itself from its strong side. The finish is full, pleasantly warming and long lasting. Here is a delicate bitter nuance that adds another detail to the spicy taste.
