Born in Campbeltown's Glengyle Distillery, this sweet and smoky Kilkerran expression is the perfect winter warmer.
The fifth release in the Kilkerran Heavily Peated Series.
The peat is prolific yet well integrated. A fresh coastal influence evokes memories of a blustery, busy, sea sprayed harbour.
Aged in 85% bourbon casks and 15% sherry casks, this dram is bottled at 57.7% ABV.
Please note, stock is limited from secondary market releases.
Nose: Sweet, sooty peat smoke kicks off this malt, reminiscent of toasting marshmallows on a beach campfire. This combines with a maritime influence typical of Campbeltown whisky, with notes of salt and fishing creels.
Palate: The ash and soot from the nose is immediately apparent on the palate, along with digestive biscuits.
Finish: A long a long and creamy finish - notes of toasted oak and pencil shavings give way to a lasting sweet, fruity peat smoke.
