About the material
KATANA is made from special rust-resistant stainless steel, which is specialized to be used in Samurai swords and hair scissors. When chromium is added to iron, chromium combines with oxygen to form a thin protective film (passive film) on the steel surface.This passivation film prevents the progression of rust. In addition to corrosion resistance, the steel has excellent heat resistance, processability, strength and design properties.
