    JOSE L. PIEDRA

José L. Piedra is a particularly noteworthy Havana not only because its blend is composed of filler tobaccos grown exclusively in the Remedios tobacco region (formerly called Vuelta Arriba), but also because it is made using the ‘totalmente a mano, tripacorta’, or ‘totally hand made, short filler’ technique.

The Piedra family came to Cuba in the 1880s from the Spanish province of Asturias. They settled near the town of Santa Clara, which lies at the heart of the Remedios region where tobacco has been grown since the 16th Century, and started to make cigars.

The family’s second generation led by José Lamadrid Piedra, whose name is commemorated today, founded and developed the brand.

All of the José L. Piedra sizes are made from Remedios tobaccos using the traditional ‘tripa corta, totalmente a mano’ – short filler, totally handmade technique.

    BREVAS

The Latest addiction to the Jose L Piedra's range and made with the brand's signature medium to full blend of short filler tobaccos.

  • This medium-bodied cigar will provide an earthy taste with a great draw and creamy smoke. Hints of salt and tanginess will hit the lips giving an interesting flavour.

Reviews

Customers say
Customers generally find this Jose L Piedra Brevas to be an excellent value Cuban cigar, often praised for its authentic Cuban flavour and affordability, making it a popular choice for an everyday smoke. However, a significant number of reviews highlight inconsistent construction and draw issues, with some cigars being unsmokable, suggesting a variable experience.
Best suited for those seeking an affordable Cuban cigar for daily enjoyment, who are willing to overlook occasional construction inconsistencies for the value and flavour.

For the price, not a bad stick. It needs a lot of age to be fully appreciated. I would sooner take a step up in price to get a better return. written by mmeadows

Badly made, wrapper undid itself without much prompting. Very uneven burn on most of the 5 I tried. Taste nothing special, not very strong. An undemanding smoke - both on the senses, and thankfully the pocket. written by Andrew J Mellor GBR

A light cigar in all senses of the word. Light in weight, body, aroma, taste and on the wallet. Looks, smells and feels like a havana but doesnt provide the havana smoking experience - due to short filler leaves and sub standard tobaccos. Fine for a cigar but isnt in the same league as bonafide habanos written by JR

Having smoked the rest of these , I found them inconsistant. Can be rather loosely filled with a slightly bitter , dry finish. If you get a good one they are well worth the money.Overall can only reccomend if price is the main issue. written by Richard
