I've been smoking the red label for quite some time and when I saw these bundled at 10 for £75 I thought it was time to try the blues.
First impressions was very scruffy and hurriedly assembled. The wrapper was obviously not off the top of the good pile, lots of veins, dinks and lifting edges and the cap really was an afterthought. This really had the look of a Friday afternoon special and not what I'd expect from Inca.
HOWEVER! the stick smoked great. Really nice draw, not too loose. Burnt well, only a couple of wanders off paste that were easily corrected by simple rotation. Ash solid to past an inch.only thing for me was I had to give it a couple of pulls to get the volume of smoke I like.
Flavours - absolutely nothing harsh or offensive here. Tasting notes pretty much spot on but again, for me, a very blended taste profile rather than any stand out flavour, this stayed pretty much constant through the stick with it ramping up in the last third.
For me, a cigar from a favored maker that promised more. Badly let down by its shabby presentation that is not the norm for the Inca brand. Compare this to the Red Label and the superb Inca range and the difference is huge.
Taste wise not a cigar to sit down with a notepad and pen, rather to spark up and enjoy as an accompliment to whatever else you are doing, beer and a chinwag, gardening, washing the car etc. It will not offend you or take you by surprise. It will deliver a steady, easy going flavour and burn pretty much maintenance free.Am I concerned I bought a bundle of 10? No not really. I'm pretty convinced that a few weeks in the humidor will elevate them up another level, I'll let you know. Buy a single and see what you think. All that said, and shortfalls considered I just remind myself that I only paid £7.50 a stick for a full size Corona!!
