A Special Distillery Bottling of Imperial 15 Year Old from Allied Distillers Ltd.
Allied Distillers released this 15 year old official bottling along with three other 15 year olds, the others are:
- Glenburgie
- Tormore
- Miltonduff
All are now discontinued.
The Imperial distillery was a producer of single malt Scotch whisky located in Carron, Speyside that operated sporadically between 1897 and 1998.
It was demolished in 2013. Imperial was mothballed and reopened several times in its hundred-year history. The only official bottling was a 15-year expression, released in the mid 1990s.
In 2015, a new distillery, Dalmunach, was built on the same site by Chivas Brothers.
Please note as this is a vintage bottle, conditions of bottle/label and liquid level can vary - Some years can vary as estimations only (example: estimated 1970s/80s).
Delicate with refreshing notes throughout, a slight spice hint lingers in the background a this is then backed up by cinnamon and yet more refreshing flavours such as citrus - think lemon.
To finish, sherries noted are balanced out by hints of oak, all in all a fantastic tasting whisky.
